Her compositions are visual and emotional, coming from dedicated film music study. Spellbinding impressionistic solos take audience members on journeys that always resolve to create a coherent whole, thus appealing to persons with all ranges of experience with jazz. Takana describes her sound as "without boundary," "accepting," "improvisational" and "healing." As the Society’s audience members learned in 2006, an evening with Takana Miyamoto will be an unforgettable experience. Takana has earned "Rising Star" recognition from the International Jazz Society. Women Looking Ahead selected her as one of "Georgia's Most Powerful and Influential Women" as a composer, featuring her in their magazine as "an extraordinary talent".
